Each of us likes to think we are different, and we are. As real estate agents go, yes, I think I am different. I am a hard core solution seeker. Tell me what you want done and I will do my best to make it happen... On time and on budget. I dislike delivering surprises, so I work hard to make sure there aren't any.
My background:
I am a life long Texan, the son of a Texas mother and Nebraska father. They met during the depression years when my mother took a school teaching position in the small Nebraska town where my father's family farmed. As World War II loomed my father moved my mother back to her Texas roots. After the war my father served the community as a policeman and fireman. My mother returned to teaching first and second grade children. My childhood was idyllic.
I studied history, government, business, and law at West Texas A&M and the University of Houston. During law school my creative juices drew me to professional photography. I was at home there. None the less, I dutifully completed law school and passed the state bar of Texas. Photography was terrific but the world of photographic business had a stronger attraction. For twenty-three years I was the account executive for Canon USA. This wonderful experience placed me in day to day contact with consumers, mom and pop store owners, multinational companies, educational institutions, and governmental agencies. I was the face of the company in half of Texas and all of New Mexico. I learned do business in Spanish as well as English. The greatest experience was to please and satisfy a wide range of customers with widely varying needs.
My position with Canon brought me to San Antonio in 1977. There I met my wife Mitzie, a special education teacher of 32 years now retired from the San Antonio school district. We had time to support our mutual interests of travel, gardening, reading, and, thankfully, good living. The diverse and varied people of San Antonio has been a rich source of personal friends and business partners.
The late 1990's ended with the pop with the dot com bubble. Also businesses were radically changing decades old practices with the advent of computers and improved telecommunications. I saw real estate as an ideal business for my background and decades long career of meeting customers needs. I joined Keller Williams in 2000. I worked as a Realtor until 2005 when I became as a mortgage officer, serving the fastest growing San Antonio home builder. In 2007 I accepted an opportunity to reenter real estate and work with Randy Young, a leading commercial and residential Realtor. Randy retired and a group us formed a new real estate team back at Keller Williams. A full circle.
